Hey all....What I am doing...and more.

Hey all, what am I doing? I am watching television, a show called 'Web Of Lies'. I absolutely love this show. And I am enjoying my strolls in my backyard, taking photos of wildlife, mainly birds. It is very relaxing and enjoyable and refreshing! Not to mention magic(k)al! I am also still working on my art piece and it is coming along really well! And I was offered payment for it! And my birthday is coming up. Mar. 17th is my birthday. Am really excited but don't know what I want to do or see for my birthday. Oh well. I will take whatever comes.

Cineraria plant question....

Just wanted to show everyone a photo of my newest plant addition and ask a question. I recently looked up information on how to care for it and discovered that the plant does not tolerate heat very well, soil must be kept moist, and the flowering lasts only six weeks and it only flowers once, must have well-drained soil and kept in light shade. My question is this: Can I freeze them for storage and future usage? If so, do you suggest I grow them in pots?

Well, it's official. As of Thursday last week, I took my last antibiotic pill, thereby finishing off the bottle. And I am feeling 100% better. I am still a little worried though, as we still do not have a diagnosis and, as a result, the infection could return and with a vengeance.

On another serious note: My friend, Mrs. Delores Archuleta, is getting ready to have a biopsy done on her liver. She and I go way back. Mrs. Archuleta was my substitute teacher when I was in high school a few times. Shortly after we first met, we became fast friends. When it came time for me to graduate from high school, Mrs. Archuleta and I exchanged phone numbers and we have remained in constant contact ever since. Well, yesterday I called her, just to check up on her, and was informed that Mrs. Archuleta went to see her doctor and that the doctor informed her that he/she found symptoms of cyrrhosis (unsure of correct spelling) or liver damage. It is here that I shall mention that she has Type 2 Diabetes but has never consumed an alcoholic beverage in her entire life. So Mrs. Archuleta has been ordered to have a biopsy done on the scar tissue(s) in her liver, have a full blood panel done, as well as have an ultrasound done. I hope that Mrs. Archuleta is okay and that the scar tissue is benign-which is a tall order. Or, at least, the diagnosis isn't too severe and is easily treated. I cannot bear to lose another friend due to illness-any type of illness! Please keep Mrs. Archuleta in your thoughts.

On a lighter note, I have taken some more bird and flower photos. Here they are.

Black-tailed Gnatcatcher

This little fellow and his/her mate were flitting around in the bushes in the backyard behind my house. I was originally looking for woodpeckers to take photos of when I caught sight of the two Black-tailed Gnatcatchers and took this photo of one of them instead. They are so cute!

Long awaited post......

Whew......be prepared for a long awaited post and a long post at that.

First off, the week before Valentine's Day-I got sick with allergies. The allergies were dust related. And get this: my family and I are having the tile floor in our kitchen, hallway, my bathroom, and the laundry room ripped up and replaced with granite floor tiles; the cabinets in the kitchen and laundry room are being replaced with darker colored wooden cabinets; the baseboards throughout our house have been removed, painted white and replaced; we purchased a brand new, smaller and slimmer refridgerator, and a smaller, slimmer double oven; a pullout cabinet will be installed in between the refridgerator and double oven; the center island in the kitchen has been removed and a smaller one is being built to replace it; and we are having a wine/soft drink chiller installed. All of this is possible because we saved up enough money over a period of three-four years. This alone has kicked up a lot of dust allergens for me. So, I was sick for a week and took some allergy medication. Then I recovered. And I began working more on, and coloring in, my newest art piece.

Valentine's Day came and went without a hitch. In fact, it was a wonderful and peaceful holiday and I was able to enjoy time with my family.

After my previous store manager, Mrs. MH, was forced to step down and move to another store, and after a new store manager, Mr. MV stepped in, things at work have calmed down and gotten much better. And I feel more comfortable talking to my new store manager.

However, on Tuesday of last week, I got severe heartburn that lasted until the next night-when it came to a head and I got sick to my stomach. Then, last Saturday, I developed a severe sore throat that started on the right side of my throat. And at around the same time, a low-grade fever started. Then, by Sunday, the sore throat was all over my throat, and the fever-despite medication-was stubborn, and no amount of throat medication was able to dull the pain and it hurt to swallow or even talk. Yesterday, the symptoms remained the same, with a new symptom-coughing. Whooping cough-type coughing. So I scheduled a doctor appointment. Once I saw the doctor, I was/am no closer to getting a diagnosis than I was when I first started. The doctor ordered a Strep Test, which turned out to be negative. So she prescribed a broad-spectrum antibiotic. Thankfully it is not Sulpha Drug-related, as I am deathly allergic to all Sulpha medications. The antibiotic is called Amoxicillin. I am taking 875 mg of this medication and taking it twice (2x) daily for ten (10) days. If this doesn't work, the doctor assured me that she will order a full blood panel from me, as well as a more extensive throat culture. So hopefully this works.

Good news as well: I lost five (5) pounds. Meanwhile, tomorrow I will be able to go back to work! Yay! And I am able to work more on my art piece!

Am watching...

Aw man, am watching Dog The Bounty Hunter! Absolutely love the show! Beth and Leland and Dog and the whole family are a great team and a lovely family too! I wish my family was like the Chapman family....lol. A great family who believes in second chances. I adore the Chapman family even though I am not Christian but Wiccan/Pagan and I enjoy watching the Chapman family in action. Well that's it for now.

Hello everyone am doing better.

Hello all, I am doing so much better! Yesterday we were able to determine where the gas leak (yes, there was only one) was. It was in the laundry room. And as for how the dryer was installed-it was installed improperly. And the installer knew he was doing it improperly because we called him and asked him to come fix it. And he flatly refused, saying, ''I don't fix or replace things for white people.'' (he was Mexican) And then he hung up on my mom. And he was subcontracted by Lowe's to do it. Which is sad. My mom asked the gas company, who were able to fix the dryer PROPERLY, if she should go and complain to Lowe's customer service and explain what was said by the installer and that what he did was dangerous and even life-threatening. And the gas company employees both gave a unanimous yes. So my mom is most likely going to go into Lowe's and complain next week and ask that they change subcontracting companies.

On another note, while wandering around outside yesterday, I started taking photos of some birds and even got in some bird watching. I even got to see a Mexican Chickadee (I think) and a Curve-billed Thrasher. Sadly I did not get a chance to take a photo of the Chickadee. Too fidgety. But I did manage to get a photo of the Curve-billed Thrasher-which by the way has a wonderfully beautiful song. Enjoy!

Very pissed off.

Hello again all. These past few days-months even-have been very rough. Christmas/Yule was okay though. My brother came over from Louisiana to visit us here in Arizona and we exchanged loads of presents with each other.

However, after my brother left to go back to his home in Louisiana, the rough times came. My dad's breathing and sleep apnea issues got worse and he now has to retire early due to health. And my mom, I am worried that her mind is starting to slip. One time, after Christmas/Yule and before New Years Eve-even though my dad and I have told her on numerous occassions that our fireplace chimmeny is clogged and cannot be used, she went ahead and started a fire in the fireplace. Dad and my brother had to get the fire extinguisher and put the fire out as cinders and sparks were flying everywhere. And the whole house was filled with smoke so my mom thought it was a great idea to turn on the almost non-working smoke ventilator but not open all of the windows in our house and assist the ventilator. So my dad, despite all of my mom's protests and angry outbursts, opened up all of the windows and back patio doors. Then, a few days after the New Year, I woke up at 12:00 in the morning because I could not sleep very well, and went in to the kitchen to eat an early breakfast. Lo, and behold, the stove was on. Fortunately there wasn't anything near it and it was on low heat. So I turned it off and asked my mom about it. Her response? Well she was cooking that afternoon for my dad's work party and she guessed that she must've left it on. She also stated that she's glad that there was nothing near it and that I was there to turn it off! Smdh. What's next?! What would've happened if I wasn't there and there was something flammable nearby? Not only would we have lost the house to a fire, but my parents as well! As to the what's next, well, yesterday we found out, by the gas meter reading guy, that we have two gas leaks and had to shut off all of the gas lines to our house which includes the following: Stove, water heater, house heater, oven, dishwasher, washing machine, clothes dryer, grill, and pool. And we are without these until we can get a plumber/electrician out here to fix this, which won't be until tomorrow or sometime next week. The gas leaks are in our laundry room and outside near the grill area. I have been telling my mom FOR MONTHS that there was a funny smell going on in the laundry room and that SOMETHING needed to be done about it. Mom's reply? It's the paint on the wall. Bullshit!

I really need to move away from my parents before their actions get me seriously injured or worse, killed.

And my skin disease, Hidradenitis Suppurativa, isn't helping matters any. I have to go to the doctor in a few months and discuss some new abcesses (2) I've found and see if they require surgery. For more info on this disease, follow these links: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hidradenitis_suppurativa and

And just to cheer everyone up after such a daft and upsetting journal-here is the photo I took of a Red-tailed Hawk (Light phase) I believe.

Rebecca M.

About my lack of posting.

Hello all. I am sorry about my lack of posting. I just had a string of bad luck along with some good luck. First the good luck.

The good luck is that I got some really good customer service reviews and that I recieved some nice compliments from other customers. I also managed to get on my managers' good sides by doing a wonderful job at work. And I just found out that two of my friends are going to have babies so I am excited for them. One of my cousins is getting married next year and I get to see a friend of mine afterward. And I am excited for that too.

Now the bad luck. This Thanksgiving, a friend of mine, who I will simply call J, fell and broke two bones in her foot and now requires surgery. She is due to have the surgery after New Year's Day. So I got stuck with her hours for three weeks. But because I am on so many restrictions from the government, and because I have anxiety and panic attacks, I can, and am allowed to, only work 20 hours per week-no ifs, ands, or buts. I explained that to my then store manager-who ignored the requests and notes and continued to schedule me however many hours she wanted me to work-which was over 30 hours per week. I even turned in a doctor's note explaining why I can only work 20 hours per week. That was also ignored. So I went to my Union and complained about, and explained, the situation to my Union Rep and he told me that he would speak to my manager. Fortunately, quite a few co-workers of mine also complained about our then-store manager to the Union AND Corporate and our then-store manager was informed that she had one day to pack up her office and step down to a lower position at another store or be fired. So she chose the first option. Our new store manager is much more easy-going and is a wonderful listener. So he fixed my hours back to the 20 hours per week limit.
However, as of Tuesday of this week, I just joined my co-worker J in the injury parade. All I did was simply get out of my shower stall, dry myself, and get dressed and that is all it took to somehow injure my lower back muscles. So now I have to take some pain medication and do some unusual back stretches that my dad has recommended because my dad has a bad back and sees a chiropractor who recommended the same stretches my dad told me about. So far, it has only given me minimal relief. Same goes for the pain relievers and muscle relaxers I am taking. My dad told me that if my back pain continues along with the muscle spasms in my lower back, I will need to see a doctor. I am so pissed about it because here it is the Holidays and I am physically hurting.

On a side note, I am learning to speak Spanish so that I will be better able to serve Safeway/Albertsons customers.

Well that's all folks!

Rebecca M.
